Precision Edge Surgical Products Company, a global leader in contract manufacturing of orthopedic and medical device instruments, is the recent recipient of the “Automation of the Year” award from parent company Marmon Holdings, Inc., a Berkshire Hathaway company.
“This is a direct result of our focused automation and technology strategy that we have been implementing for many years,” says Precision Edge President Todd Fewins. “I am incredibly pleased and could not be prouder of our automation, engineering, and operations teams that continue to successfully execute our mission. This award is yet another example to our customers and the market of our commitment to remain the industry leader by continuing to invest in our products, technology, and people.”
Precision Edge is part of Marmon Holdings, which comprises 11 groups and more than 100 autonomous businesses. Marmon’s Innovation Award recognizes companies and projects that leverage innovation to drive their businesses forward. Precision Edge received this award by implementing five automation projects in 2021 with a significant investment in state-of-the-art equipment. The company previously implemented several other automation projects, and have more scheduled over the next several years with specialized and often custom equipment and technology, designed for high-precision tolerance medical manufacturing.
