PINK Breast Center Kicks Off “Everything Else Can Wait” Campaign in NJ

Breast Cancer Doesn’t Wait—Everything Else Can!

“Our campaign is serving as a reminder to women that their health can’t wait,” she said. Getting your yearly mammogram is one of the best things you can do in order to catch potential ailments early.”

“Breast cancer doesn’t wait—everything else can.” That’s the message and sense of urgency behind PINK Breast Center’s current awareness campaign. PINK Breast Center, a division of ImageCare Radiology, is reminding women over 40 about the importance of an annual mammogram during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

PINK Breast Center has 15 locations in North Jersey. The awareness campaign kicks off in the heart of Paterson with rolling billboards stationed in front of the municipal building on September 29 at 9 a.m. That day and in the coming weeks, those billboards will travel to other communities, along with a team of women who will be dressed in pink #EverythingElseCanWait T-shirts and engage the communities with important information and literature.

Andreia Santos-Lima, CEO of ImageCare Radiology, is hoping the campaign will remind women about the importance of preventative care.

“Our campaign is serving as a reminder to women that their health can’t wait,” she said. “Getting your yearly mammogram is one of the best things you can do in order to catch potential ailments early. If you catch things early on, you have a lot more security in terms of planning and seeking optimal treatment that is right for your particular needs. Getting biopsies at the right time and being able to then coordinate the necessary steps to get back on track with your health is key.”

The American Cancer Society estimates that 287,850 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2022. Approximately 43,250 women will die from the disease. Early detection is key to treating breast cancer. The very early breast cancers have a 97 to 100 percent chance of cure, according to the American Cancer Society.

With its AI-powered, 3D mammography technology, PINK Breast Center gives every woman her best chance for an early and accurate diagnosis. The Siemens 3D Revelation

unit allows radiologists to see a 360-degree view of the breast and catch cancers at a higher rate than other units.

Katy Lynch, Lead Mammo Technologist at PINK Breast Center, said, “We are proud to provide extensive breast health testing to our community. I was so excited to be one of the first to use Siemens 3D Mammo Revelation and to be a part of an initiative that is saving lives by early detection. We really believe in treating our patients like family from the second they walk in the door and giving the best care possible.”

Santos-Lima noted that, “Our team and state-of-the-art equipment makes us stand out.” She also stressed the importance of community outreach with PINK Breast Center’s current awareness campaign, especially in under-served communities. “Healthcare is community outreach. Given our insurance landscape and how not everyone is insured, it’s important to get the word out regarding what it means to have a mammogram, what it means to have preventative care, and what it means to have early detection.”
