BISMARCK, N.D. (PRWEB)

Ideal Option, a national leader in evidence-based outpatient treatment for addiction to opioids – such as fentanyl, heroin, and oxycodone – methamphetamine, alcohol and polysubstance, is now welcoming patients at its second clinic in Bismarck. The beautiful new clinic, located at 221 W Divide Ave, offers primarily buprenorphine-based medication-assisted treatment led by an onsite addiction medicine specialist delivering personalized, face-to-face patient care.
Due to its cheap, potent and plentiful supply, fentanyl, a dangerous and highly addictive synthetic opioid, has begun to take over the illicit drug scene in North Dakota.
“As a department and as an agency, statewide we are seeing a substantial increase in the amount of fentanyl arrests and the amount of possessions,” says Bismarck Police Lieutenant Jeff Solemsaas. Bismarck police seized nearly 10,000 pills containing either fentanyl or oxycodone in 2021.
Ideal Option recently released its 2021 Annual Patient Outcomes Report for patients living in North Dakota. The report shows fentanyl positive rates at enrollment were up by 95% displacing heroin positive rates which were down by 49% compared to 2020. The data also support the effectiveness of treatment. Among patients who remained in treatment with Ideal Option during 2021, urine drug testing shows:
- 98% less fentanyl use
- 93% less total opioid use
- 95% less heroin use
- 82% less methamphetamine use
- 60% less benzodiazepine use
The new clinic is Ideal Option’s second location in Bismarck and comes at a time of desperate need for expanded access to evidence-based treatment from experienced providers. Ideal Option has been specializing in addiction medicine using Suboxone® for 10 years and currently operates 81 clinics across 10 states.
“The opioid epidemic is destroying families and communities across the United States, and the Bismarck-Mandan community is not immune,” said Carissa Cornell APRN, FNP, addiction medicine specialist for Ideal Option in Bismarck. “Just as an individual’s environment contributes to their addiction, so too does it contribute to a successful recovery. Finding the right atmosphere that offers you the treatment options best suited to meet your needs is the first step toward recovery. By opening a second Bismarck location we can expand our services and help decrease the transportation barriers that affect many.”
The new Ideal Option clinic in Bismarck is open Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and is located at 1221 W Divide Ave, Bismarck, ND 58501.
Most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid, and patients can typically get started on treatment for fentanyl, heroin, alcohol or other substances within 1-3 business days.
