Discussing the Concerns within Clinical Research in Oncology and In-Home Healthcare, Upcoming Webinar Hosted by Xtalks

In-home care also helps a patient go home sooner after intensive treatments like CAR T therapy.

For cancer patients, clinical trials are a necessary care option and often the only piece of hope left when standard-of-care treatments fail. Unfortunately, less than five percent of cancer patients currently participate in clinical trials, though more than 70 percent could benefit from an oncology clinical trial. To close this gap, a model that provides more cancer patients the option to participate needs to be created. In this webinar, the featured speakers discuss concerns in clinical research in oncology and in-home clinical trial care.

One solution in ensuring more cancer patients have access and ability to participate in a clinical trial, is to offer in-home visits as part of the clinical trial. Having the option to be cared for at home where possible — in-between or as part of the protocol required visits — decreases the burden of traveling to a site. In addition, it minimizes the stress involved in the logistics of an already burdensome life with frequent visits for complete care. In-home care also helps a patient go home sooner after intensive treatments like CAR T therapy.

Although the benefits of in-home healthcare are undisputed, the logistics and liabilities associated with providing in-home trial support to cancer patients do create new problems that need to be solved. It is important to ensure critical data are collected for the trial in a new way.

Technology is one of the best ways to ensure these data can be collected from the home trial visit. The speakers will discuss technology solutions that will make in-home healthcare more accessible to patients.

Join this webinar to learn how in-home healthcare can become a more viable care option for more cancer patients.
