We want to teach future generations of Kehoes the importance of ‘giving back’, and learning that idea early in life. We look for organizations where we can make a significant impact by giving both our time and money. – Kevin R. Kehoe, Kehoe Family Foundation Founder

Aspire Software Founder, Author (“One Hit Wonder”) and Stage 4 Cancer Survivor Kevin R. Kehoe officially announces the launch of The Kehoe Family Foundation website (https://kehoefamilyfoundation.org) and support for charities coast-to-coast, including efforts to increase patient access to cutting-edge cancer treatments at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Founder and Philanthropist Kevin R. Kehoe was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer shortly after he started the Aspire Software company in 2014. Kevin was given a 30 percent three-year survival prognosis, and is grateful to the Mayo Clinic team in Phoenix, Arizona, and his first oncologist Dr. Tara Seery in Laguna Beach, California, for their support and care for the past eight years. While building Aspire Software into a scalable business, Kevin survived seven surgeries, five courses of radiation, and months and months of chemo. When he asked Dr. Seery why she thought he was still alive when others diagnosed with him had passed away, she said, “You’re lucky. Your cancer is probably what we call a ‘good actor’…that’s my best assessment.”
After Kevin R. Kehoe’s company was fully acquired in 2021, he wrote a book “One Hit Wonder” to help fellow entrepreneurs and others succeed in pursuing their dreams. In addition, Kevin and his family members, set up a philanthropic foundation in 2021 with the idea that the next generations of Kehoes would be involved in giving to causes aligned with the family’s values.
As the grandson of Irish immigrants and oldest of six children, Kevin’s new foundation’s Mission is to: “Engage future generations of Kehoe family members in being actively involved in responsible giving to organizations that support the Founder’s values and causes.” Kevin explained: “We want to teach future generations of Kehoes the importance of ‘giving back’, and learning that idea early in life. We look for organizations where we can make a significant impact by giving both our time and money.”
The core members of The Kehoe Family Foundation include the two Founders Kevin and his wife Lorraine Kehoe, along with Julia M. Kehoe (Kevin’s daughter), Michael Kehoe (Kevin’s brother), Deirdre Chanis (Kevin’s sister and her two boys – Kevin’s nephews), and Matt Kehoe (Kevin’s nephew).
As a Stage 4 Cancer survivor, Kevin felt strongly about supporting community outreach and engagement through Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center in Arizona. This includes efforts to increase clinical trial access to cutting-edge cancer therapies and establishing a patient navigation program that decreases barriers for patients and their families to improve their care and overall experience.
Kevin expanded, “We are happy to announce that the new Kehoe Family Fund for Cancer Community Outreach and Engagement has been set up at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and honors Tanios Bekaii-Saab, M.D., a physician who works with patients needing specialized cancer care.”
Along with Mayo Clinic, The Kehoe Family Foundation current beneficiaries include Hillsdale College, SUNY Stony Brook Athletics, Tunnel to Towers, Turning Point USA and the National Association of Landscape Contractors.
In his leadership book, “One Hit Wonder”, Kevin R. Kehoe shares his inspiring life and business lessons to help readers succeed in an entertaining storytelling format. Kevin emphasizes, “It can take years to achieve a defining moment of success. For many ‘One Hit Wonders’, like musicians, one success does not define their life or legacy. The real story about a one hit wonder is the focus on a lifetime body of work, plus the good fortune of having one mega hit that will always be special and memorable.”
Or as Kehoe states; “We all dream of being ‘Superman’. But for me Superman’s story and his greatest contribution has never been the superhero part… it’s the Clark Kent part – the idea that any of us, in all our ordinariness, can change the world.”
And with millions of students going back to school this August, Kevin R. Kehoe encourages them to learn more about giving time and money to organizations that support their values and how they want to make the world a better place.
