“I was so honored that Ashley chose to speak with me about this sensitive topic,” said Kessler. “I’m confident that this podcast will be a great resource to many.”

International best-selling author and world-renowned loss expert David Kessler is expanding his reach by doing a Limited Series Podcast on Spotify called “Healing with David Kessler,” which launches today, July 26, 2022.

Kessler was surprised a couple of weeks ago by a phone call from Ashley Judd saying she had an idea. “I’ve been listening to your podcast, and I so appreciate it, but all your guests have been speaking about grief from long ago,” said Ashley Judd to Kessler. “What do you think about me coming on to help people who are newly bereaved?”

Kessler was honored that she would do it while still early in grief.

“I’m so impressed that Ashley would be willing to share her story,” said Kessler. “She has such a deep commitment to turning her own pain into purpose by helping others.”

This episode is a reminder of what Kessler always teaches: grief is not just death. Judd, in the hour-long interview shares about her childhood grief, abuse, Harvey Weinstein, and of course, her mother’s death. She walks us through the events and dives deep into the reality of mental illness and death by suicide.

In this tender interview, Judd is exceptionally raw and vulnerable as she describes the grief she and her family is going through and how each of them are all coping with it differently.

Judd expressed how privacy is deeply important to her and she wanted to make the choice herself where, when, and how to share private family information to reach out to others who may be isolated and struggling.

Kessler’s recent guests that have opened up about their personal losses have included, William Shatner, ABC News and GMA correspondent Will Reeve (son of Christopher and Dana Reeve), Netflix’s Medium Tyler Henry, Holocaust Survivor and author Dr. Edith Eger, Marianne Williamson, as well as upcoming guests NBC’s TODAY show’s award-winning news anchor, Craig Melvin, YouTuber Alex Warren and Dr. Laura Berman, relationship expert from the Oprah Winfrey Network.

“I was so honored that Ashley chose to speak with me about this sensitive topic,” said Kessler. “I’m confident that this podcast will be a great resource to many.”
