“Keeping customer data secure is at the core of our business, and as we have grown rapidly to partner with clients that serve nearly 34 million members, we have continued to expand the number of controls to ensure we protect sensitive data from all threats.”

Codoxo, a trusted provider of healthcare artificial intelligence solutions for healthcare payers and agencies, today announced it has renewed HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year (r2) Certified status for information security for its entire unified cost containment platform. This achievement demonstrates that Codoxo has met key regulations and industry-defined requirements with its robust security infrastructure and has a high-quality information risk management and compliance program to protect sensitive customer information.

Codoxo is part of an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards, and frameworks and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST Assurance Program helps organizations address security and data protection challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.

“Keeping customer data secure is at the core of our business, and as we have grown rapidly to partner with clients that serve nearly 34 million members, we have continued to expand the number of controls to ensure we protect sensitive data from all threats,” stated Musheer Ahmed, Codoxo’s Chief Executive Officer and Founder. “By renewing our HITRUST Certification, we demonstrate to our customers that we continue to maintain the highest standards of data protection and information security.”

Codoxo’s founders have deep roots in cybersecurity. Musheer Ahmed developed Codoxo’s Forensic AI Platform, which uses patented technology to identify problems and suspicious activity earlier than traditional techniques, as part of his Ph.D. dissertation at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Institute for Information Security and Privacy. His doctoral research has been recognized for tackling some of the biggest challenges within the emerging health data infrastructure in the United States. Mustaque Ahamad, Codoxo’s Chief Scientist and Co-Founder, is a professor of computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

“There was a sort of stigma about working on the cloud – people had concerns about data security,” said Ahamad. “Codoxo was built from the ground up on a strong cybersecurity program because it is part of our DNA – and the HITRUST re-certification validates the high level of protection we have been providing our customers for years.”

Since initially receiving HITRUST certification a few years ago, Codoxo’s customer base has significantly grown to nearly 34 million members. The company has added new controls and procedures to accommodate the increase and enhanced protection against data compromises. It has also adapted remote access policies that became a higher priority because of COVID-driven workplace changes.

“HITRUST is the highest standard for security in the healthcare business, and this certification is a key differentiator for us in the marketplace,” stated Prasoon Saurabh, Codoxo’s VP of Engineering. “This recognition gives customers who are using our technology confidence that they are working with a partner who maintains strong security controls to minimize both system and operational security risks.”

“The HITRUST Assurance Program is the most rigorous available, consisting of a multitude of quality assurance checks, both automated and manual,” said Bimal Sheth, Executive Vice President, Standards Development & Assurance Operations, HITRUST. “The fact that Codoxo has achieved HITRUST Risk-based, 2-year Certification attests to the high quality of their information risk management and compliance program.”
