Two experienced executives have joined Sorcero, a startup providing information and workflow management software to regulated enterprises. Aimee Gallagher and Sean Smith bring over forty years of experience to Sorcero’s product and market development teams. Gallagher has been hired as Sorcero’s Chief Product Officer, while Smith was promoted from Sorcero’s VP of Marketing to its Chief Marketing Officer. The additions make clear Sorcero’s commitment to growing a company with solutions that can scale to work with any enterprise.

Gallagher and Smith join a leadership team at Sorcero that includes Walter Bender and Dipanwita Das, founder and CEO of Sorcero. With a background in global development and technology consulting, Das is committed to building a no-code platform that can improve the way information and workflows are handled, distributed, and shared. Using domain-specific Natural Language Processing (NLP) as a foundation, Das and her team ensure that subject matter experts, not just technologists, can set up and deploy solutions to address critical business problems.

Walter Bender, Sorcero’s CTO, is the former director of the MIT Media Lab and Co-Founder of One Laptop Per Child. He is widely regarded as both one of the world’s leading technologists and an innovator in the educational community. By developing Sugar, a free software OS alternative to the Microsoft Windows & Office suite, Bender brought new opportunities to the world’s poorest children. He then went on to spread this ingenious platform through Sugar Labs. He discussed these accomplishments in a Ted Talk, which can be found here.

“The latest two appointments nicely round out our leadership team,” said Das. “One of the biggest concerns with AI solutions is their tendency to not have a quantifiable ROI and failing to scale beyond the pilot. Aimee and Sean will help us ensure that we don’t face that issue with our customers.”

Das called Gallagher a “perfect fit” as Sorcero’s CPO, noting that Gallagher managed and participated in a number of development teams, both local and virtual, in her more than twenty years in the field. Her experience includes working with prominent organizations such as Priceline, through their IPO, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where she negotiated multi-million dollar contracts and developed new products and businesses.

As Sorcero’s new CMO, Smith brings more than twenty years of experience working with enterprises. “Sean has been with Sorcero almost from the beginning,” Das said. “He’s a seasoned marketing and Business Development professional, a brilliant product strategist, and, over the past year and a half, has demonstrated a remarkable ability to roll up his sleeves and get the job done.”

Over the past twenty years, Smith has served in a number of different marketing and BD leadership roles in the fields of enterprise software and information services. His former employers include InfoDesk, Quosa, Elsevier Business Intelligence, and the Thompson Publishing Group. While working full-time, he earned an MS in marketing from the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business and an MS in journalism from Georgetown University.

Sorcero’s solutions let experts better manage the information they know best within enterprises, and the start-up is following that same principle with these hires: investing in a future guided by expertise.
