Wellness Within Your Walls® Will Speak, Identify Exhibitors for Health & Wellness Features, and More at NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) and Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) Feb. 8-10 in Orlando

“We work ultimately to achieve healthier living environments and, to reach that goal, it’s critical we link residents with like-minded builders, manufacturers, architects and designers. IBS and KBIS are the ideal venues to do just that, so our team will be out in full force in Orlando.”

Wellness Within Your Walls® (WWYW), the award-winning resource group which certifies people, places, products and programs to promote healthy living environments, will attend the NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS) and Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) beginning Feb. 8 in Orlando, Fla. WWYW’s founder will speak at two events during the trade shows and the group will launch the online application of its third-party residential certification for health and wellness. Additionally, a team of WWYW-certified professionals will travel the Expo floors spotting preferred health and wellness products, and the organization will debut a new tagline – Wellness Within Your Walls® Connects Heart & Science – which will appear in a series of ads, video spots and other marketing tools at the Expos.

“We have spent years perfecting the science of exactly what makes a healthy home, and we couldn’t be more excited to launch our simple website application of our third-party residential certification for health and wellness,” said Jillian Pritchard Cooke, WWYW founder. “We work ultimately to achieve healthier living environments and, to reach that goal, it’s critical we link residents with like-minded builders, manufacturers, architects and designers. IBS and KBIS are the ideal venues to do just that, so our team will be out in full force in Orlando.”

Over the last 15 years, WWYW has consulted with scientists, physicians, architects, builders, raters, inspectors, realtors, specifiers, and interior designers to develop an industry-leading standard to certify people, places, products, and programs globally through education and health and wellness protocols. WWYW’s certification process includes such protocols as education, testing, inspections, specifications, resident behavioral strategies, and data analysis to certify residences. Wellness Within Your Walls® is the bridge between residents and trusted and vetted manufacturers, architects, builders, and designers, resulting in healthier homes.

A team of WWYW experts will traverse the IBS and KBIS conference floors, spotting new and innovative products, systems, and technologies for healthier homes. When they identify an exhibitor of interest, they will put a tent at that booth, alerting Expo attendees that the exhibitor is a WWYW preferred vendor for the product identified.

The WWYW journey has included multiple case studies and pilot homes, providing invaluable data for WWYW health and wellness protocols. These protocols led to the creation of the WWYW 10-step holistic approach, known as the Healthy Living System™, and now launching to the new tagline, Wellness Within Your Walls® Connects Heart & Science. The certifying organization will introduce this new identifier tagline at IBS and KBIS in various ads, table-top tents, videos, buttons, handouts and other marketing materials.

Building industry leaders have worked with WWYW over the years and several have become champions of the wellness organization, employing WWYW protocols in residential construction. Bill Hayward, creator of the Hayward Healthy Home Score, is currently constructing a home in Pebble Beach, Calif. and his home is slated to be certified by WWYW at completion at the most rigorous level, exemplary. Randy Noel, a past chair of NAHB, built a WWYW-certified pilot home in Luling, La., a locale known for unhealthy air and water attributed to significant toxins present from chemical plants along the Mississippi River. Despite its location, the Luling house, a spec home in the Greater New Orleans HBA Parade of Homes, scored a perfect 100 on the Hayward Healthy Home Score, due largely to the protocols required by WWYW certification.

“Jillian and the entire WWYW team are thorough and exhaustive in their research and approach to healthy building protocols,” said Randy Noel. “Because of my involvement with them professionally through NAHB over the years, I was completely comfortable trusting them and participating in their pilot home program in my personal residence.”

Noel will participate on a panel at this year’s IBS continuing education series called “60 Design Ideas in 60 Minutes,” during which he will highlight healthy building protocols. The panelists speak at 9:15 am. on Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Jillian Pritchard Cooke will also speak at this year’s IBS. Her presentation, “Why Wood? Wood’s Contribution to a Healthier Building Industry” will occur at the Canadian Briefing Session Breakfast at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9. She also will present “10 Healthy Home Strategies that Will Set You Apart from the Competition” at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10. At both presentations, conference goers will get insight into the organization’s health and wellness strategies which result in a legacy of health, harmony and sustainability in living environments.

IBS and KBIS are being held in person Feb. 8 through 10 in Orlando at the Orange County Convention Center. Learn more here.
