CNI College is pleased to announce Dr. Robyn Nelson is joining the educational team as Dean of Nursing. Dr. Nelson brings over two decades of experience to one of the top ten nursing programs in the area. An established thought-leader for workforce development in California, Dr. Nelson is a dedicated partner to prominent nursing education organizations in the state, including the Southern California Hospital Association.

Dr. Nelson holds a PhD in Nursing Administration from UC San Francisco, a Master of Science, Education Clinical Nurse Specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing from Boston University, and a BS in Nursing from Loma Linda University. Dr. Nelson has served as a Dean/Director for over two decades in three different educational sectors, developing programs at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral levels, as well as using the online modality. Through her work with the Southern California Hospital Association, she works to transition new graduates to practice and supports non-direct care with simulation education. She is currently a member of the Substantive Change Committee of the WASC Senior College and University Commission, and as a site visitor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a professional nursing accreditor. She brings established working relationships with industry partners, such as Academic Testing, Inc (ATI), workforce leaders, such as HealthImpact and the Hospital Association of Southern CA. Dr. Nelson currently serves as the academic board member for the Association of California Nurse Leaders, the California arm of AONL, ANA/California, the California Association of Colleges of Nursing, and as a faculty consultant for the California Student Nurses Association. The network of organizations and individuals that has and continues to support Dr. Nelson’s professional career, will support CNI College in achieving the institution’s strategic goals and mission to support the education of professional nurses.
