Waters Corporation Wins “Overall BioPharma Innovation of the Year” In 2021 BioTech Breakthrough Awards Program

BioTech Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization that evaluates and recognizes standout life sciences and biotechnology companies, products and services around the globe, announced that Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is the winner of the “Overall BioPharma Innovation of the Year” award for their Waters MaxPeak™ HPS technology in the inaugural BioTech Breakthrough Awards program.

Liquid chromatography (LC) is critical for drug development and manufacturing. First introduced with its chromatography columns in 2020 and later within its ACQUITY™ Premier Liquid Chromatography (LC) Systems, Waters’ MaxPeak High Performance Surface (HPS) technology is a hybrid organic/inorganic surface technology that forms a barrier between the sample and the metal surfaces of both the LC system and column.

In doing so, MaxPeak HPS technology minimizes metal-based adsorption of sample analytes, including reducing the risk of unseen analytes going undetected by 10-100X depending on the analyte, more accurate analyte identification and data interpretation, less re-work or troubleshooting, and more confidence in results. Additionally, with MaxPeak HPS technology there is no need for system passivation that wastes valuable sample material or ties up instrument time. Lastly, this innovative technology eases the reliable transfer of analytical methods from site-to-site and from company-to-company.
