“I would like to thank you again for a wonderful night’s sleep FINALLY. I’ve had so many surgeries that sleep has been very hard the past 4 years. It’s programs like yours that make patients like me feel as if life is worth living. I didn’t think I would ever feel this normal again!!!”
HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (PRWEB)

United Breast Cancer Foundation is excited to once again be working with Good360 and Tempur Sealy International, the world’s largest bedding provider, to gift Tempur-Pedic® mattresses at no cost to breast cancer patients and survivors in Louisville, Kentucky this October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To help make this event possible, UBCF is working with Twisted Pink, a fellow breast cancer organization in Kentucky, to spread the word about the event. UBCF is grateful to Brookfield Properties for donating the space to make this event possible.
On October 30th UBCF will be giving away 160 queen-size Tempur-Pedic® mattresses to male and female breast cancer patients and survivors in Louisville, Kentucky. An application can be completed online and must be submitted and approved in order to attend the event and receive items. Applications are welcome from anywhere in the United States, however, approved applicants are responsible for picking up items on the day of the event. For more information please contact 877-822-4287 x 726 or email GIKApplications@ubcf.org.
UBCF’s Executive Director, Ms. Stephanie Mastroianni shared, “We are so excited to once again be working with Good360, Tempur Sealy and Twisted Pink to bring UBCF’s popular Tempur-Pedic® Mattress Donation Event back to Louisville, Kentucky for a second time!” Stephanie continued, “Helping patients and survivors gain a better nights’ sleep is deeply important to the healing process and we’re honored to help facilitate.”
Stephanie Jones, the Community Outreach Coordinator for Twisted Pink, explains, “Twisted Pink is so grateful for the continued commitment the United Breast Cancer Foundation brings to breast cancer survivors especially in the state of Kentucky and surrounding areas. According to the CDC, Kentucky has the highest rates of cancer diagnosis and deaths than any other state. Additionally, the top rate of new cancer cases in Kentucky is female breast cancer. UBCF is continually supporting the needs of individuals and their families affected disproportionately by a breast cancer diagnosis! We could not be more grateful for their recognition and dedication to bring their support back and fill this need in our community!”
A history of Gifted Sleep
UBCF has been providing Tempur-Pedic® mattresses to the breast cancer community since 2012 and in that time, thousands of people in need have received the priceless gift of rest. Tempur-Pedic® mattresses offer the comfort and support necessary to promote quality sleep, something that is vitally important to the healing process and improving the quality of life for those touched by breast cancer. This is UBCF’s third Mattress donation event in Kentucky.
Very often large purchases, such as mattresses, and other daily necessities are delayed or abandoned due to mounting medical bills. Daedrid recently received a Tempur-Pedic® mattress from UBCF and had this to share, “I would like to thank you again for a wonderful night’s sleep FINALLY. I’ve had so many surgeries that sleep has been very hard the past 4 years. It’s programs like yours that make patients like me feel as if life is worth living. I didn’t think I would ever feel this normal again!!!”
Amy also received a mattress and she shared, “I am very picky about mattresses… I LOVE this mattress. I was waking up in pain every morning and didn’t think much about it until sleeping on this Tempur-Pedic® mattress. The past 2 mornings I actually noticed I wasn’t in pain. Such an amazing thing to do for others, I am so grateful for the gift from your amazing foundation. THANK YOU!”
According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. UBCF encourages women and men to know their bodies and learn the self-breast exam to help recognize any changes. Those in need of assistance can get support through UBCF’s Breast Screening Program.
