Today Fable announces a partnership with Benetech’s Bookshare initiative to provide Fable’s community of people with disabilities access to the world’s largest library of accessible ebooks. Through the partnership, Fable’s community will have unlimited access to a diverse library of 400,000 ebooks to support both personal and professional development.
“One of our core pillars at Fable is meaningful employment,” says Fable’s Community Manager Samuel Proulx, “and a key part of meaningful employment is the opportunity to upskill and develop professionally. Bookshare is the ideal program to give our community more resources for independent and self-paced professional growth.”
The first-of-its-kind partnership with a private enterprise is a milestone for Bookshare and a sign of Fable’s unique stature. “Fable’s community focus and inclusive approach to accessibility align strongly with our mission,” said Brad Turner, VP and GM Global Education and Literacy at Benetech. “We are proud to partner with Fable to empower their community to read and learn in ways that work for them, develop new skills, and advance their careers.”
