Passpatch™, a wearable sensor designed to minimize exposure risk to COVID-19, announces partnership with Innovation Hills, Inc. to start testing aged populations in Japan

Passpatch LLC, announced its partnering with Innovation Hills Inc. of Japan, to deliver into the nation, the pilot of Passpatch™ technology as a method to monitor and detect temperature spike changes to persons at risk for either heat stroke or possible COVID-19. The trial will use the Passpatch Pandemic Defense System TM.

Japan, with a population in 2019 measured by World Bank at 27.2% over age 65, ranks number one in the world as a country with the largest percentage of aged population. Already challenged by the increased medical needs of an aging demographic, the higher percentage of older citizens also means an increased mortality risk for the nation from infection with COVID-19.

“We are excited to partner with Passpatch in this trial. As Japan locks further down for COVID-19, there is a critical need in Japan to bring technologies to the country that can monitor aging citizen’s health condition, improve preventive care, lessen pandemic risk, and contribute to arresting the continuous rise in healthcare and long-term care costs the nation critically faces”, stated Innovation Hill’s CEO and Founder, Hajime Suzuki.

The test trial will use Passpatch™ technology to provide real-time monitoring of a spike to the defined settings for at-risk of heatstroke or infection triggering temperature. The wearable-based platform consists of a high-precision medical grade digital temperature sensor designed to meet ASTM and ISO requirements for patient monitoring and pairs with a mobile application.

For US market users, a release to customers of the beta Passpatch Pandemic Defense System™ is planned for early first quarter 2021.
