For the new challenges brought on by the COVID crisis, the Savoy Foundation has stepped in to provide extra support for The New York Foundling’s program for children with developmental disabilities.
NEW YORK (PRWEB)
December 08, 2020
In response to COVID-19 pandemic, the America Foundation of Savoy Orders will transition the in-person 23rd annual Ballo di Savoia to a “Virtual Gala,“ originally scheduled in the Metropolitan Club in New York City, to an online fundraising campaign on the evening of December 12, 2020. The evening will present a video presentation highlighting the Foundation’s work and past in-person galas. The prime charitable beneficiary will be The New York Foundling’s Community Habilitation Services For Children with Developmental Disabilities, in keeping with the Foundation’s mission – Chivalry For Children’s Causes.
All subscribers to the Savoy Foundation’s on line gala will be invited to view a very special virtual gala video presentation, highlighting the Foundation’s work, retrospectives of in-person galas and a unique video ball journal. The online giving event begins now and runs through December 31, 2020. To date $125,000 has been raised from our Patrons, Benefactors and Sponsors.
The New York Foundling provides habilitation and skills training for hundreds of children with developmental disabilities in the community every year. Skills therapists visit children in their homes and work with them and their families to help build independence. These therapists also help to advocate for the child with their school and teach important social skills. Throughout the pandemic, the NY Foundling has continued to provide $500 for 1 month of weekly skills training and therapy for a child with a developmental disability. The Savoy Foundation is asking its supporters to donate online now, perhaps in the amount they originally planned to give or spend on gala tickets at the Ballo di Savoia. Tickets for the 23rd anniversary gala can be purchased here. For more information about the philanthropic causes supported by the Savoy Foundation, please click here.
