Shoreline Biome, a microbiome research company that develops tools for characterizing microbiome populations down to the strain level, has been awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The company received the certificate for its management system on Nov. 4, 2020. It recognizes Shoreline Biome’s commitment to quality through an effective quality management system.

ISO 9001:2015 is a standard issued by ISO, an independent, non-governmental international organization. ISO 9001 sets the criteria for quality management systems; it is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement, according to the ISO website. ISO 9001 certification helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services.

To become ISO 9001:2015 compliant, Shoreline Biome underwent an extensive company-wide audit of the quality management system and supporting management system documented information.

“We’re pleased to have received this ISO 9001:2015 certification,” said Tom Jarvie, Shoreline Biome’s co-founder and chief marketing officer. “It reinforces Shoreline Biome’s commitment to creating industry-leading products and services that are on par with international standards of excellence.”
