Olive Fertility Centre is delighted to announce that the Olive lab has received multiple awards, including Top Clinic Award for Superior Outcomes in Egg Vitrification Warming as well as Leaders of Vitrification Excellence Awards, at this year’s LOVE Awards (Leaders of Vitrification Excellence) by Donor Egg Bank USA.
These awards recognize Olive Fertility as the Top Clinic in Canada for the outstanding practice and results that Olive Fertility has achieved in the thawing techniques of frozen donor eggs.
After careful evaluation of 28 partner practices and over 150 reproductive specialists in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, Donor Egg Bank USA selected recipients for awards in Fertility Practice Excellence in a number of categories. Candidates were evaluated based upon clinical pregnancy rates achieved per egg lot thawed and overall practice excellence.
“It is our pleasure to present Olive Fertility Centre with multiple Donor Egg Bank USA 2020 LOVE Awards – including our overall Top Practice Award in Canada. The Leaders of Vitrification Excellence Awards were designed to recognize superior embryologists who have mastered the highly technical skill of vitrification freezing and warming. We are honored to work with Olive Fertility Centre’s fantastic physicians, embryologists and clinical team,” says Heidi Hayes, Co-Founder, Donor Egg Bank USA by Generate Life Sciences.
Donor Egg Bank USA provides frozen donor eggs to infertility patients in Canada and the US who are unable to conceive a child using their own eggs.
“We are thrilled to be recognized for the excellence of our lab and egg thawing protocol,” says Dr Gary Nakhuda, Co-director Olive Fertility Centre. “These prestigious awards are a testimony to the quality of our lab and the skill of our highly trained team of embryologists and andrologists. We have devoted an extreme level of attention to detail to every aspect of the design of the lab to create the best possible environment to ensure excellent outcomes and patient safety. But beyond our technology, what really sets us apart is the outstanding group of scientists that run our lab.”
At the lead is Salah Abdelgadir, PhD, who has been a laboratory director for nearly 20 years, with certification as a Technical Supervisor (TS) and High Complexity Lab Director (HCLD) from the American Board of Bioanalysis. He is the only PhD-educated lab director in British Columbia who works on-site, full time to maintain strict and direct supervision of all laboratory processes and procedures. Working with Dr Abdelgadir is an entire team of some of the best embryologists and andrologists in the field.
“Our world class lab is why Olive has among the highest pregnancy rates in Canada and is part of our commitment to provide families with the best chance of having a healthy baby,” says Dr Nakhuda.
“Oocyte survival is not the main measure of vitrification performance, but rather high-quality embryo development resulting in a viable pregnancy. I congratulate Olive Fertility Centre on consistent performance in achieving high outcomes,” says Wayne Caswell, Senior Director of Laboratory Quality for Donor Egg Bank USA.
Olive Fertility Centre is one of Canada’s largest fertility clinics, offering an advanced IVF lab, personal care teams and innovative programs that include specialized genetic testing, egg freezing, and prenatal NIPT testing.
