Partners Pharmacy is proud to release the findings of a recent independent study which evaluates the impact of Partners’ APS remote medication dispensing technology designed for the post-acute community. Partners’ APS brings the pharmacy into the facility reducing outside interaction between pharmacy couriers and nursing home staff. A key factor as facilities continue to face the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study, conducted over an 18- month period which involved 52 nursing facilities was validated by Centric Consulting, a national business, technology and digital consulting firm. Performance elements included customer feedback and benefits, including quality, time savings, workflow savings, ease of use and adoption, space savings, and reduction in drug waste. Michelle Brown of Centric’s Operational Excellence Practice led the validation and verification.
Brown reviewed study data, derived calculations and metrics. She also conducted interviews of the individual(s) who led the field study and built the measurement system and output metrics. Centric Consulting concluded that the field study approach was sound and the resulting key metrics and benefits were calculated in an appropriate manner, and they accurately reflect the results of the data collected.
Timothy Dimond of Centric Consulting stated, “Centric Consulting has concluded that the field study approach was sound and the resulting key metrics and benefits were calculated in an appropriate manner, and they accurately reflect the results of the data collected. Centric was proud to be part of this validation study of Partners APS and its recognized benefits to the post-acute and senior living populations.
Anthony Spero, COO of Partners Pharmacy was very pleased with the confirmation of the data collected for the white paper study. Mr. Spero states, “The next generation of Passport takes the efficiency of our AP Passport technology to the next level. Partners Advanced Pharmacy Solutions, or APS, is an integrated multi dose dispensing system made especially for long-term care. This ecosystem of four units combine in an easy-to-use solution ideal for today’s time-strapped nursing staff especially during this pandemic when we know facilities are managing staffing challenges along with the challenges of limiting outside interactions. The new software is enhanced for ease of use and interacts with the electronic health record. The white paper study validates the features and benefits as a key solution in long term care settings.”
