On Monday, October 19th Dialysis Care Center (DCC), a rapidly growing dialysis provider, celebrated their new state-of-the-art, in-center located at 9834 South Kedzie Avenue in Evergreen Park, Illinois with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attended by DCC staff, patients, and Baxter Healthcare representatives, the occasion not only marks a milestone in DCC’s tremendous growth throughout 2020 and commitment to providing patient-centric care to those with end-stage chronic kidney disease in the Evergreen Park community, it also celebrated their continued relationship with Baxter Healthcare.
DCC Evergreen Park is the first location in the U.S. where Theranova, Baxter Healthcare’s novel dialyzer designed to deliver expanded hemodialysis (HDx) therapy, is being used for patient care. The Theranova dialyzer’s unique membrane design offers a filtration profile that more closely mimics that of the natural kidney and can be used with existing hemodialysis machines.1,2 Multiple patients are now on therapy.
According to Baxter, “We are doing everything we can in the U.S. to ensure healthcare providers can realize the full value of HDx therapy enabled by Theranova for their patients on HD,” said Gavin Campbell, general manager of Baxter’s U.S. Renal Care business. “Similarly, we know Dialysis Care Center understands the opportunity to bring its patients a promising alternative in Theranova to what is currently available with standard HD treatment.”
“Dialysis Care Center is always interested in partnering with companies that are finding innovative ways to enhance the quality of dialysis care that we provide to our patients. We are excited that through our continued relationship with Baxter, they have partnered with DCC to be the first center to introduce their new product to the U.S. market.” stated Babajide Salako, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Dialysis Care Center.
