We are excited to bring continuing education and opportunities for personal connections right to our audience. Although we’ll miss seeing each other in person, we hope that our educational design will allow even more advanced practitioners to participate this year.

In this era of online events, the JADPRO Live conference, taking place from October 15–23, 2020, with encore showings through November 6, will push audience expectations for a virtual meeting experience. Immersive and enriching, with all of the tailored educational presentations and networking opportunities that advanced practitioners (APs) expect from the conference, the new virtual format is designed to disseminate practice-changing information and generate discussion on a wide variety of topics in oncology and hematology.

“We are excited to bring continuing education and opportunities for personal connections right to our audience,” said Laura Zitella, MS, RN, ACNP-BC, AOCN®, Associate Clinical Professor and nurse practitioner at University of California, San Francisco, and Chair of 2020 JADPRO Live Virtual. “Although we’ll miss seeing each other in person, we hope that our educational design will allow even more advanced practitioners to participate this year.”

In its eighth consecutive year, JADPRO Live is the largest oncology conference created specifically for APs (nurse practitioners, PAs, pharmacists, and advanced degree nurses). The meeting was inspired by the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO), the first peer-reviewed journal written by and for oncology and hematology APs. JADPRO Live is held in conjunction with the annual membership meeting of the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology (APSHO), a society of more than 1,600 highly specialized clinicians who are on the front lines of care for patients with cancer.

This year’s theme, “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow,” reflects the leadership roles that APs accept in their everyday practice to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care. This function has become even more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic, as APs have spearheaded telehealth visits, assured continuity of care for the vulnerable oncology population, and fostered collaboration to navigate unprecedented challenges.

This year’s virtual format allows JADPRO Live attendees to learn and connect with one another from the comfort of their home or office. Attendees will able to:

  • Earn up to 16 credits/contact hours through educational sessions offering timely, clinically relevant information on the management of patients with cancer
  • Interact with speakers through live Q&A
  • Participate in unique virtual networking opportunities, including Braindates, a peer learning experience where attendees can post a topic and connect with other attendees experiencing similar challenges or with similar interests
  • Navigate the virtual exhibit hall and talk with industry representatives.
