HopSkipDrive, the innovative safe youth transportation solution, is excited to announce two new additions to its Safety Advisory Board: community-centered doctor and public health outcomes expert Dr. NanaEfua B. Afoh-Manin, MD, MPH, and student transportation veteran Theresa Anderson.

As the meaning of safety evolves with the COVID-19 pandemic, and school districts wrestle with how and when to reopen schools, HopSkipDrive can better meet new challenges in school transportation through the expertise of these two accomplished women.

Dr. NanaEfua B. Afoh-Manin is a community-centered emergency doctor, social entrepreneur and humanitarian disaster relief consultant. At the advent of the COVID-19 health crisis, Nana founded the myCOVIDMD initiative to create community-based COVID-19 testing pop-ups for the under-resourced in Los Angeles and other metropolitan cities.

In her role on the HopSkipDrive Safety Advisory Board, Dr. Afoh-Manin will continue to guide HopSkipDrive COVID-Safe Ride Standards innovation and community wellbeing initiatives. The company’s COVID-Safe Ride Standards were released earlier this year, and include first-in-market requirements such as plastic dividers between front and back seats.

Theresa M. Anderson brings 30 years experience in the student transportation industry to the Safety Advisory Board. Starting as a school bus driver, Theresa worked her way up to Central Director of several large Colorado school districts. She now acts as Region 5 Director for the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT), is a Trustee for the Colorado State Pupil Transportation (CSPTA), and owns TM Anderson Consulting, specializing in operations optimizations with an emphasis in Special Education, Medicaid and alternative transportation. Theresa will help HopSkipDrive with optimizing its safe alternative transportation offering.
