Having all of your orthopedic medical information all in one place is just one of the benefits of the OrthoNOW Mobile App.

OrthoNOW, a network of orthopedic immediate care centers in South Florida, is rolling out a new mobile app this month called OrthoNOW Mobile App v3.0. This updated version of the award-winning program is compatible with Android and is available in the Google Play store. In addition, the iPhone version of the app has been updated, so all users will want to go for version 3.0.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, technology and telehealth are serving as essential tools for providing information and care. The OrthoNOW structure, which is a specialized orthopedic immediate care model, allows for people struggling with orthopedic issues to receive efficient and effective care, all in one place. While technology and telehealth methods are not meant to replace traditional in-person doctor appointments, they can be useful supplements for communicating with a clinician or tracking progression of an injury.

Dr. Alejandro Badia, Founder and Chief Medical Officer of OrthoNOW says, “having all of your orthopedic medical information all in one place is just one of the benefits of the OrthoNOW Mobile App.” Many patients of the clinics appreciate the flexibility and structure of the application, which allows them to bypass traditional appointment setting and instead, come on their terms, at the most convenient time for them. Dr. Badia adds, “patients can use the On My Way NOW feature in the new app to inform the nearest location that they are coming to the office, and they can even order an Uber or Lyft right from within the app.”

For those who pull a muscle when playing tennis or whose shoulder doesn’t feel quite right when they wake up, this app is a huge help. Eric Rylander, Vice President at OrthoNOW says, “we have patients, coaches, and crew leaders who have the app on their phones and ready to go. You never know when you’re going to need it.”

The OrthoNOW mobile app has several innovative functions that distinguish it from other technologies and telehealth offerings. Included in the program is an option for parents and coaches of young people to input information for rapid game-time decision making. For example, Dr. Badia adds, “the OrthoNOW app will provide guidance and information for coaches and young athletes, and for other sports enthusiasts as well, to decide when it’s time to come off of the bench and likewise, when it might be time to come off the field.”

The OrthoNOW app is an industry-leading option that OrthoNOW has piloted and is making available to its patients and to the community at large. OrthoNOW offers this application as a part of their technology suite which is available for participating OrthoNOW partners. The OrthoNOW Mobile App is an innovative solution to a whole host of patient needs.

Version 3.0 of the app includes:

  • On My Way NOW®, a way to select a clinic, order a car from Uber or Lyft, and alert the medical team that you’re on your way
  • Referrals functionality which allows patients to be referred to an OrthoNOW clinic from primary care doctors, general urgent care centers, and even hospitals
  • A live Link to OrthoNOWlive telemedicine for video visits
  • Driving directions and location information, including hours of operation
  • A way to take and store pictures of your injuries and share progress with clinicians
  • More information about services, social media links, Q&As and more

This update has been put in place to continue offering patients ease of access and flexibility when it comes to their orthopedic care.
