Trident at AIU Welcomes Experienced Scholar-Practitioner to its DHA Program


Dr. Renee Hotchkiss Geschke, Full-time Professor, Trident

Trident at American InterContinental University (Trident) is happy to welcome Full-time Professor Dr. Renee Hotchkiss Geschke to the College of Health and Human Services. She will be teaching in the University’s new Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program.

In this role Dr. Hotchkiss Geschke will be leading the curriculum development for the DHA program, mentoring doctoral students, chairing Doctoral Study Project (DSP) committees, and engaging in scholarly research. She brings a strong background in interdisciplinary practice and research, which will be beneficial to doctoral students who are pursuing similar professional and academic paths.

Dr. Hotchkiss Geschke’s research interests are related to health administration, health services, health policy, and public health. She is well-versed in applied research, covering topics like the impact of volunteerism on hospital performance, cost-benefit analyses of health programs, and the economic impacts of health disparities.

Academic outlets where Dr. Hotchkiss Geschke’s research has been published include Journal of American College Health, Journal of Health Administration Education, International Journal of Public Policy, Health Care Management Review, and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly. Her work has been included in the conference proceedings of the Academy of Management and the Global Business and Technology Association.

Her previous academic leadership roles include Lead Faculty – Healthcare Management at Colorado Technical University, Associate Professor and Program Director at Rollins College, and Associate Professor and Program Director at Florida Gulf Coast University. She was also an Associate Professor at Georgia Southern University, where she instructed public health courses at the doctoral level and performed scholarly research.

Dr. Hotchkiss Geschke holds a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from University of Central Florida, where she also earned a Master of Science in Health Services Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration.
