Dexur’s value analysis tracks a patient’s episode of care from the date of admission for 90 days and includes the index hospitalizations, rehospitalization, home health, nursing home, and ED costs. South Central Regional Medical Center’s total cost of care over a 90 day episode was $20,003 (for the period between July 2016 and June 2019). The index hospitalization cost was $10,615 and the average rehospitalization cost per hospitalization was $6,130. The cost per rehospitalization was at an average of $16,996. Meanwhile, the average ED costs per hospitalization (when ED is involved) was $909.

Forrest General Hospital’s total cost of care over a 90 day episode was $22,575 (for the period between July 2016 and June 2019).
