In order to ensure the measure accuracy needed to support quality reporting, IHA recently made the decision that provider organizations who elect to self-report to IHA must partner with a vendor who uses a certified measure engine to calculate the quality measures.

SPH Analytics, a leader in healthcare quality and experience analytics, today announced that it has expanded its top-rated population health solution to support California-based Integrated Healthcare Association’s (IHA’s) Commercial HMO Align. Measure. Perform. (AMP) program. IHA’s Commercial HMO AMP program was originally launched in 2001, and has grown into one of the largest value-based performance benchmarking programs in the country. The program participants include eleven health plans and more than 200 California physician organizations caring for over 9 million Californians enrolled in commercial HMO and point of service products—representing 95% of commercial HMO enrollment in the state.
With this product expansion, provider organizations can now use the SPH Analytics solution to participate as a self-reporting provider organization in the Commercial HMO AMP program. SPH’s solution integrates directly into a provider’s electronic medical record system to automate the extraction and normalization of clinical data, which is then used to calculate and monitor quality performance according to IHA’s specific list of AMP quality measures. SPH Analytics turnkey solution also supports Auditor and IHA submission, whereby performance is measured, and incentives are calculated with top performers recognized across regional and state-wide efforts.
“The AMP program has been an industry leader for many years,” said Kevin Weinstein, President, Population Health at SPH Analytics. “In order to ensure the measure accuracy needed to support quality reporting, IHA recently made the decision that provider organizations who elect to self-report to IHA must partner with a vendor who uses a certified measure engine to calculate the quality measures. We are thrilled to bring such a solution to our California-based providers, empowering them to measure and improve quality performance in an ongoing and cost-effective manner.”
Provider organizations now have the option to contract directly with a vendor using an NCQA-certified engine and self-report their results to IHA. The advantages of self-reporting are:
-
Continuous performance monitoring across all measures throughout the year prior to end of year submission; - Guaranteed compliance for submission of quality measure data to IHA
- Audit assistance throughout the year to ensure compliance and optimal performance
- Additional quality measures from other quality programs (HEDIS®, MIPS, ACO, Medicaid, and commercial payers) can be tracked within the same dashboard
- Supplemental clinical data exports to individual health plans that promote payer and provider collaboration can be easily generated and shared
With SPH Analytics’ portfolio of top-ranked population health solutions and robust library of measures, provider organizations can utilize one award-winning partner to optimize participation in multiple value-based quality programs, including IHA’s Commercial HMO AMP program, MIPS/MACRA, HEDIS, state Medicaid and other commercial payer-sponsored programs.
