Karen Falco, Winner of ARS Cares Healthcare Heroes Program at Blue Dot Services

Blue Dot, a local HVAC provider and part of the American Residential Services (ARS) Network of Brands, is providing a new HVAC system to Karen Falco, a deserving nurse as part of the ARS Cares Healthcare Heroes program. The program is an extension of the year-round, company-wide ARS Cares initiative, and is rewarding more than 50 free home services makeovers to healthcare professionals across the country during the current COVID-19 crisis.

Karen Falco is a nurse at John Hopkins, and is known for the energy and kindness that she brings to all her patients, especially during the current COVID-19 crisis. She is also a mother of five, and her husband is disabled. In addition to keeping up with the demands of her job and family, one of her children was diagnosed with a very aggressive bone cancer last year. Recently, the HVAC system in Falco’s home stopped working. The family was unable to afford a new system, leaving her son and husband stuck in a hot home. Blue Dot is happy to provide much needed assistance to this local hero. The installation of Falco’s new HVAC system was completed on June 9.
Following the announcement of the ARS Cares Healthcare Heroes program on May 13, family, friends, and co-workers were invited to share stories of why a Maryland frontline worker was deserving of home improvements that would deliver relief and relaxation. ARS received more than 400 nominations.
The ARS Cares initiative was launched in 2016 to cultivate positive relationships with communities where we live, work, and play. Since that time, more than 90 home services makeovers have been completed, donating more than $500,000 of HVAC systems and water heaters to deserving recipients.
