DrOwl, a medical platform built on patented technology, today announced the rollout of a free new electronic screening and monitoring solution to help protect people at businesses, facilities, and nursing homes in the face of COVID-19. We hope that making this free electronic screening and monitoring solution available will help to mitigate the risks throughout this pandemic and beyond.
Outbreaks of the coronavirus at American businesses and nursing homes across the nation have spurred urgent cries for precautionary measures. The CDC recommends that visitors and employees who have symptoms such as cough, fever, or shortness of breath should be separated from other employees or not be allowed to enter. In order to find out if their employees and visitors have these symptoms, many organizations currently screen people coming into their business through paper tracking. This paper tracking system is inefficient and may not help prevent further infections.
DrOwl will now be providing a groundbreaking solution to this problem, with a platform that electronically screens and tracks everyone who enters businesses, facilities, and nursing homes, creating an electronic tracking of all employees and visitor activity in real-time. This free screening and monitoring tool allows businesses to screen their employees, vendors and (if they so choose) their customers, in order to keep their workforces and facilities as safe as possible during the difficult period. Although nothing is foolproof, good methods of screening can help keep everyone stay safe and may reduce a business’s potential liability from any exposure or outbreak at their facility.
Using the DrOwl app or a webpage customized to each facility, each employee, visitor or vendor is asked questions such as “have you had flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days.” Each business or facility can customize the questions asked for their facility. They can also get an electronic log of each visitor and how they answered the questions. If the visitor answers that they are feeling fine and have not been exposed, they are allowed to enter right away. If the visitor answers they have been feeling bad, had a fever, etc., they are given a message customed by the facility. For example, if an employee answers that they have a fever, they can be instructed to leave the facility and to a COVID-19 test.
“DrOwl created this screening tool with the intent of helping organizations screen people coming into their facilities to potentially save lives”, said Arvind Raichur, CEO, and Co-Founder of DrOwl. “We understand the severity of COVID-19 and wanted to do our part in helping provide resources to help our community and those around the nation during this trying time. The electronic screening tool in DrOwl can play a critical role in helping give businesses the ability to screen people who may have COVID-19, so that they will not infect more people.”
In addition to the free electronic monitoring and storage solution, DrOwl also provides a safe, encrypted, HIPAA-compliant place to store your medical records all in one convenient place. The platform was built on patented technology to store, organize, search, and share your digital medical records on demand.
Once a user securely stores their medical records, DrOwl uses AI and machine learning to provide users with a Patient Portal based on the Patient’s health records that includes trusted, doctor-approved sources of information that is customized for each user. DrOwl users can also share their Patient Portal with caregivers or family members to include them in the patient’s healthcare decisions. And, they can also initiate telehealth sessions, and allow their caregivers or family members to join in the secure telemedicine video call. This is currently available in select areas of Florida, with other locations coming online shortly.
Dr. Krishan Nagda, MD, the President of DrOwl, said, “As a physician, I understand how important it is to screen employees and visitors to lessen the risk of spreading COVID-19. DrOwl’s free groundbreaking solution can help to protect the employees, vendors, patients, and their loved ones by providing early detection to help mitigate risks and protect our most vulnerable members of the community for the benefit for everyone.”
