Octave Now Offering Virtual Therapy and Group Sessions in New York and San Francisco

Octave recently opened its first west-coast office in San Francisco.

I’m proud we’ve been able to expand our virtual care to therapy and group sessions so quickly in response to this crisis, and the uptake has been remarkable.

Octave, a national behavioral health practice, today announced that it has brought its entire therapy and wellness practice online in response to COVID-19. New and existing Octave patients can now see an Octave therapist, participate in group sessions, get coaching, and attend classes and workshops via online video. Patients will be able to continue their virtual visits once Octave reopens its physical locations in New York and San Francisco, and also come into the office for in-person sessions.

“I’m proud we’ve been able to expand our virtual care to therapy and group sessions so quickly in response to this crisis, and the uptake has been remarkable,” said Sandeep Acharya, co-founder and CEO of Octave. “I’m also very grateful we have the opportunity to continue serving the community in this challenging time. The need for mental health services has never been greater, and I’m confident our new virtual and in-person model will allow more people to get the care they need.”

Octave is also launching several new programs to support the community, including free, online workshops on managing anxiety, led by Octave clinic director and co-founder Kristen Scarlett, MA, LMHC, and free and low-cost mental health services for frontline workers – everyone from healthcare providers to grocery cashiers. These services will include individual therapy, skills-based workshops, and support groups. Octave is also developing several virtual support groups.

“We’re very focused right now on harnessing the energy and expertise of our provider team to support our communities,” said Dr. Sarah Adler, Octave’s co-founder and chief clinical officer, who is also a professor of psychiatry at Stanford University. “We look forward to welcoming many new faces into the practice in the next few weeks.”

Octave launched its evidence-based therapy practice and wellness community in New York in 2018, and now has three offices in New York and San Francisco, with plans to open multiple new clinics later this year. The company offers in-person and virtual coaching, group therapy and psychiatry, along with an array of content and assessment tools to support clients between sessions. The company recently announced a partnership with Anthem Blue Cross of California to serve patients as an in-network provider.

Octave is also hiring for a number of corporate and clinical roles – please visit findoctave.com/careers to find out more.
