Veego Bolsters Advisory Board with Appointment of Globally Recognized Exec

Veego Software, an Israel-based startup that puts an end to malfunctions in the connected home as it grows smarter and more complex, announced the appointment of Ajay Waghray to its Advisory Board.

An accomplished technology executive known for harnessing leading technologies to achieve core business goals, Ajay combines a background in engineering and consulting with pioneering and transformational leadership to adeptly steer operations, workforce, and technology toward achieving greater efficiency and profit growth. As former chief technology officer of Assurant, Inc., and a member of the company’s management committee, he was responsible for driving technology strategy and aligning IT with business objectives across Assurant’s global enterprise.

Ajay started his wireless career with Bell Atlantic Mobile in 1997, which later became part of Verizon Wireless, where he served as CIO and was instrumental in the company’s 4G/LTE launch as well as the integration of the Alltel acquisition. He advanced to become chief information officer of Verizon Enterprise Solutions, which provides products and services to a global customer base that includes 98 percent of the Fortune 500. There, he led the global information technology strategy, systems portfolio development and operations.

“Career-wise, I have always been involved in tackling the large-scale technology challenges of some of the world’s largest enterprises, but I am inspired by the super-charged atmosphere of the Startup Nation—Israel—and its emerging companies with innovative, disruptive technologies,” stated Waghray. “My vast telco, technology and senior IT management experience will be put to excellent use as I do my best to drive Veego toward success.”

Mr. Waghray’s leadership in the technology field has been widely recognized. In 2011, he was named to the InformationWeek 500, a list of U.S. technology innovators. He won InfoWorld’s CTO 25 Award and a CIO 100 Award from CIO Magazine. He has also been honored as one of ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders.

“Veego is honored to attract such a recognized talent as Ajay to our company,” declared Amir Kotler, Veego CEO. “He has a deep and extensive understanding of the telco market including strategies at the highest management levels. He will help guide us as we penetrate CSPs and ISPs globally with our advanced solutions for automating customer care.”
