Dexur’s analysis of the Medicare claims data shows that the Russell Medical Center, South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, and Andalusia Health have the lowest Sepsis In-hospital mortality rate at 7.42%, 7.53%, and 8.19%, respectively. Alabama wide sepsis in-hospital mortality rate for the same period was 16.84% as compared to the national rate of 13.42%.

The risk-adjusted rate for DRG 871 for Alabama was 17.84% and 14.59% for the nation as a whole.
