This year’s Evolution of Psychotherapy meeting welcomes back the masters of psychotherapy and welcomes new presenters to discuss emerging, future-focused topics that expand on the fundamentals of effective care.
The four-day integrated forum is slated for December 14-17 in Orlando. Dubbed the “Woodstock of Psychotherapy” by TIME magazine in 1985, the meeting allows established experts, forward thinkers, and on-the-ground professionals to connect, engage, support, and reinvigorate their practice in the field of psychotherapy.
“This year at Evolution of Psychotherapy Orlando, we are embracing what an evolution truly means: to change, develop, and grow,” said Jeffrey Zeig, PhD, conference chairman and director and founder of The Milton H. Erickson Foundation. “It is a practice-changing event crafted by experts and inspired by our attendees, where foundational principles will inspire future practices.”
The educational program features a returning core group of more than 20 world-renowned faculty, providing an experience familiar to past attendees. Keynote speakers include:
-
Dan Siegel, MD, co-founder and executive director of the Mindsight Institute - Helen Fisher, PhD, internationally renowned neuroscientist, biological anthropologist, and chief scientific advisor on Match.com
- Otto F. Kernberg, MD, FAPA, professor of psychiatry, Weill Cornell Medical College
- Stephen Porges, PhD, distinguished university scientist, Indiana University and author of The Polyvagal Theory
- Diane Ackerman, MA, MFA, PhD, bestselling author of 26 books of prose and poetry
Voices new to the Evolution stage are the focus of reTHINK sessions, with short and impactful presentations delivered by practitioners covering future-focused topics including psychedelics and technology-augmented psychotherapy. Their groundbreaking ideas are designed to spark deep conversations that will examine current challenges in mental health.
The reTHINK sessions are moderated by Saundra Jain, MA, PsyD, LPC, adjunct clinical affiliate, University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. Speakers include:
- Gowri Aragam, MD, clinical instructor in psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital; co-founder, Stanford Brainstorm Lab for Mental Health Innovation at Massachusetts General Hospital
